Chamberlin Architects completed a study of this 90-year-old building to evaluate building systems, accessibility, and building deterioration. The subsequent remodel was staged in three phases to allow for continued operation during construction.
The first phase included installing an elevator, replacing the windows, tightening the envelope, and enlarging the non-accessible restrooms. The three floors were entirely renovated in two phases and included new classrooms, offices, computer labs, library, and restoration of the marble staircases. Our team successfully also met the challenge of installing new mechanical systems in the building while maintaining its original character.
